Can chiropractic adjustments help diabetes?

Chiropractic care is not just about the joints, muscles, and spine. By adjusting specific vertebrae, chiropractic manipulation relieves impinged nerve signals to the vital organs of our body.  Opening up these nerve pathways allows the body’s natural healing to occur.  The nervous system is like the electrical system in our homes, sending current to our devices and appliances. If the current is interrupted the device does not work. When the nerve is “pinched” it can cause pain, but it also cuts off vital energy to maintain our bodily functions.

For instance, constant stress can cause injury or degeneration to our spine, and left untreated can cause other breakdowns of healthy functions of the heart, pancreas, liver and kidneys.

A mid to lower back impingement can cause the pancreas to be affected. One of the jobs of the  pancreas is to  make  insulin to regulate blood sugar.  If the pancreas becomes inhibited  it can be the catalyst for dysfunction, leading to diabetes or hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), along with other contributing factors such as poor diet, stress, and lack of exercise.

Regular chiropractic care is essential to maintaining health for all the body systems.

If you are already diagnosed with Type 2 or 1 Diabetes, regular chiropractic adjustments should be an important part of your diabetes care. Learn about diet and diabetes and make an appointment today!
