How Was Your Week?

That is the way I greet you when you come for your weigh in, right? So you get to ask me the same question,” Sally, how was your week?

“It was great, I followed my protocol to the letter, that is- until the Weekend! Then, it went South fast! What was I thinking, I was not thinking, I was not focused. I lost my resolve and intention. I cheated!!!!” I had friends and family over for a BIG Brunch on Sunday and all that yummy food I had to cook just sucked me in.

So, it happens to all of us. What do we do? The answer is – We never give up! We get our focus back – remember our intention and go for it! So that is what I am doing this week. I am on my 10-15 Carb Challenge and there will be really good results this week.

Real Protein Ideas

I have been experimenting with how and when I eat my Real Protein during the day. On days I work late I like to have it at Lunch, on days I am not at the office I like to have it at dinner and on the weekends I like to spread it out; some for breakfast, a little at lunch and the rest for dinner. I encourage you to do the this too, just to see if it is helpful.

My favorite recipe this last week is to have a one egg omelet in the mornings. One large egg is equal to 1.5 ounces of your allotted 8 ounces per day of fish, seafood, meat or poultry. Egg whites are Free! I do the whole egg.

1-2-3 Simple

Measure and Saute ½ cup of your veggies that you take from your 4 cups per day. Reserve in a bowl while you whisk up your 1 whole egg with salt, pepper, a little milk or water, fresh or dried herbs (basil, oregano, mint or parsley) and cook slowly on medium low heat in a nonstick pan. When cooked place your veggies in the middle fold one side of the egg over onto the next and slide to the edge of the pan and roll on to your plate – Viola! Garnish with the rest of your veggies and some herbs, maybe a little Salsa and enjoy!
